Hey family! October 28th is less than 2 months away and is going to get here before you know it, especially since most of us are very busy this time of year with school, work, kids, hunting, you name it! I just wanted to write you a quick hello and just let you know how excited I am not only to be this YATEC’s overall rector along with Tia Johnson, but how excited I am for YATEC and see what amazing things God is going to do and experience His love in an indescribable way!
I just started my school counseling internship at New London-Spicer High School as well as coaching football so my life has just recently gotten pretty busy, not to mention hunting season just around the corner! This is going to be an awesome fall and I know that amazing things are going to be happening in our community. God is moving in such an awesome way and I can’t wait to see what he has in store for YATEC!
Our theme verse for MN YATEC #8 is Jonah 2:2 “In my distress I called to the Lord, and he answered me. From the depths of the grave I called for help, and you listened to my cry.” We chose this verse because of the absolute love that we feel from God that no matter what our circumstances, if we call to Him, He hears and answers us. One thing that I would ask, especially leading up to this YATEC weekend, is to set aside time in your busy lives and just call out to God and seek after Him. He WILL answer you, but take time to be observant. God doesn’t always respond in a manner that is obvious to us or the way or time table that we would prefer. Maybe He will send you a messenger or a sign, sometimes it is something very subtle, and other times it’s a storm and a fish. So let’s continue to eagerly pursue and seek after our heavenly father so we will be ready for Him to use us to impact the lives of everyone involved at YATEC as well as our community! I can’t wait to see you all very soon! Your Brother,
Hi-Ya! This is Tia, your next YATEC Rectora…Could it be that you could relate to someone in the Old Testament? Our theme verse for YATECMN #8 represents feelings with which most of us can relate to some degree: "from deep in the realm of the dead I called for help..." Have you ever felt this desperate before? The same God who heard Jonah's cry for help in the wretches of the whale's belly is the same God who hears our earnest cry for help in the wretched state of our sin.
JOIN US Oct. 28-30 as we encounter together the truth of Jesus Christ's work on the cross. Until then, I'll be holding down the fort at home with my husband and two small children (3.5 and 1.5 years old). I hope to catch some good reading time on Sundays after church and during the week with the kids, who also like to help me bake and act out Bible stories (Jonah is one of their favorites!). I'll rope them in on praying for you all, too. Gideon (my youngest)'s prayers seem to be of a different language, but he does like to pray! Sincerely, |
